Ideal for both commercial and domestic projects, our MOT Type 2 is a finer aggregate that ensures a smooth, compact surface, making it perfect for pathways, walkways, and as a reliable backfill material. Its superior drainage properties also make it a practical choice for filling potholes and creating stable, long-lasting surfaces. Here are some key characteristics and uses of MOT Type 2 sub-base:

• Composition: MOT Type 2 sub-base is composed of crushed granite rock with a particle size ranging from 20mm down to dust.
• Purpose: The primary purpose of Type 2 sub-base is to provide a stable and load-bearing foundation for the overlying pavement or surfacing materials, such as asphalt or concrete. It helps distribute the load from traffic and prevent the settling or deformation of the surface.
• Thickness: The thickness of the Type 2 sub-base layer can vary depending on the specific project requirements, but it is typically laid to a depth of 150mm to 200mm or more, depending on the expected traffic loads.
• Compaction: Proper compaction of Type 2 sub-base material is crucial to ensure its stability and load-bearing capacity. It is compacted using heavy machinery like rollers to achieve the desired density.
• Applications: Type 2 sub-base is commonly used in road construction, car parks, driveways, and other applications where a stable and load-bearing foundation is needed. It provides a solid base for the subsequent layers of construction.

Min. Order

The minimum order requirement is 26 bulk bags, and it can be combined with various types of bulk aggregate bags.

Delivery

All bagged material, with each bulk bag weighing approximately 900 kg, is delivered on a 44-tonne vehicle equipped with a curtain-sided trailer. Please note that our delivery service requires you to have a forklift for offloading the driver will assist with the offload process.

All orders placed before 12am are eligible for next day delivery from 07:00 to 16:00. Please allow an extra day for delivery if your order was placed after 12am.  Please bear in mind, operations on weekends are on request, so all orders are processed between Monday and Friday.
