MOT type 1 Subbase

Overview

Featuring crushed granite stones, the MOT Type 1 Subbase is engineered for optimal compaction and void reduction, providing a reliable layer under road surfaces, pathways, and paving projects. It’s the structural backbone that ensures a level, load-bearing surface for subsequent top coatings. Here are some key characteristics and uses of MOT Type 1:

Composition: MOT Type 1 is made from crushed granite aggregates. These aggregates are generally graded to specific particle sizes to meet engineering standards.
Purpose: MOT Type 1 is used as a sub-base layer in various construction applications, including road construction, driveway construction, and foundation work. It provides a stable and load-bearing foundation for the subsequent layers of construction, such as asphalt or concrete.
Drainage: One of the advantages of using Type 1 is its good drainage properties. It allows water to flow through the material, reducing the risk of water accumulation and associated problems like frost heave.
Compaction: MOT Type 1 is usually compacted to achieve a solid and stable surface. Proper compaction ensures that the material can support heavy loads and provides a level surface for the top layer.

Min. Order

The minimum order requirement is 26 bulk bags, and it can be combined with various types of bulk aggregate bags.

Delivery

All bagged material, with each bulk bag weighing approximately 900 kg, is delivered on a 44-tonne vehicle equipped with a curtain-sided trailer. Please note that our delivery service requires you to have a forklift for offloading the driver will assist with the offload process.

All orders placed before 12am are eligible for next day delivery from 07:00 to 16:00. Please allow an extra day for delivery if your order was placed after 12am. Please bear in mind, operations on weekends are on request, so all orders are processed between Monday and Friday.
